Task 33: Design and Upload Your Instagram Profile Picture Using Canva

PART 1: Log into Instagram on Desktop

Open your web browser (e.g. Google Chrome).

Go to instagram.com.

Log in with your username and password.

Click on your Profile icon in the left sidebar to open your profile page.

PART 2: Create a Profile Picture in Canva

Open canva.com in a new tab and log in to your account.

Click the "Create a design" button.

Search for and select "Instagram Profile Picture" (size: 320x320 px).

On the Canva editor page:

Use Elements, Text, and Background from the sidebar.

Choose a free template or start from scratch.

Upload your photo or logo via the Upload tab.

Drag and drop your image into the design template.

PART 3: Customize Your Design

Adjust your image and layout for best visibility.

Use brand colors or select colors that represent your identity.

Optional: Remove the background using Canva Pro's BG Remover.

Rearrange design layers using “Send to Back” or “Bring to Front” as needed.

Clean up extra elements you don’t want (delete icons, dots, shapes, etc.).

PART 4: Download Your Profile Picture

Click “Share” → “Download”.

Choose format PNG or JPG.

Confirm size is 320 x 320 px, then click Download.

Locate the downloaded file on your computer.

PART 5: Upload New Profile Picture on Instagram (Desktop)

Go back to your Instagram profile on desktop.

Click “Edit Profile”.

Click on “Change Profile Photo”.

Upload the picture you just downloaded from Canva.

Save changes.

Since desktop editing doesn’t allow changing the website link:

Open the Instagram app on your mobile phone.

Go to your profile and tap “Edit Profile.”

Add your website or link in the “Website” field.

Save the changes.

Now, your link will be shown in your Instagram bio – useful when you say “Link in bio” on posts!
